@Jeremy:

http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/irony?view=uk

• noun (pl. ironies) 1 the expression of meaning through the use of language which normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous effect. 2 a state of affairs that appears perversely contrary to what one expects.

Sounds like the second meaning applies exactly here. People who try to flag incorrect use of the word 'irony', without knowing it themselves, need a slap.

Jeremy: "incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs"

Now that we've looked it up and its use seems completely compliant, what Marco is supposed to do?

@Another freedom lover:
Of course I'm paid a lot of money by the Nokia-Microsoft-Novell cabal to crush free software.

@fraggle:
I don't know, maybe he means the Maemo stuff I worked on that has some open and some closed source things.

When did you even mention proprietary software? I don't see any mention in your blog history?

Hope these lunatics won't get you down and you'll just ignore them :-)

Blessed be the Supreme Leader of the Cultural Revolution, Richard Stallman. As the resident commissar, I need to review your case. We clearly can not allow anyone to deviate from the mandate of Chairman Richard and all opposition and mention of free software must be cleansed.

As part of The Great Cultural Revolution of Free Software, anyone that does not follow the directives of the Benevolent, the Merciful Supreme Chairman of the Free Software Cultural Revolution, must be tried by a jury of peers that have been ethically vouched for by the Supreme and Merciful.

You do not deserve to blog, to write or express any new opinions until you have been properly re-programmed by the teachers of the Benevolent, the Merciful, the Supreme Leader of the Free Software Revolution.

Software is about choice. Reading his blog is your choice. If you don't like it don't read it. No one is forcing you. Your statements are un-constructive.

Persons like you, Miguel and Lefty are just trying to destroy GNOME because of your ignorance or because your companies pay you to undermine free software.
